I got a text from a buddy while I was in a tree stand. Text said "I have an 044 for you if you want it". He is a local rep for Toro so he frequents a lot of saw shops. I text back and say heck ya how much? He says nothing I grabbed it for you at one of my dealers it's in the bed of my truck stop over and grab it! Later that night I do just that!

Dirty as heck and pretty much destroyed. Piston and cylinder trashed, bearings and seals were toast! This turned out to be my favorite resurrections to date! A quick call to @definativedave and my plan was laid for a hybrid! Had a lot of help from @Glock37 and he loves the black! Had input from a bunch of guys! It has turned out really well and from a initial cast of $0 I probably have less than $300 into it. Oh and I didn't realize when I first got the text that it was that special 044 Pro Model. Must have been the only one produced![emoji23]

My favorite thread for a while now, just about every saw I own could be on here but I'll post my favorite! Free had a cracked case, found a case half, new bearings, seals and meteor piston and she runs like a "champ" probably my favorite saw I have ever ranIMG_20170313_143947817_HDR.jpg

A few months ago, these 8 came in, all not running. 2 - 066s and 6 - 460s. One 460 is crushed and will never run, got all of the other 7 running. Gave 3 back (2-460 & 1-066) all fully tuned, fixed, and muff modded in exchange for the rest, sold one 460 to cover the cost of all the parts, and have an 066 (that cleaned up well) and 2 460s all running (will be selling the 2 460s). So basically, 3 running saws for my labor only, and I'm keeping the 066!

It cleaned up well and runs a 36" bar just fine!

Another one of my favorites is this 440 I got for $50 worth of fire wood. It was a very low hour saw, and has compression relief. It needed a piston and a handlebar. It had all new tune up parts before I got it, and burned up because someone set the Hi screw 1/4 turn out (instead of the low) after tuning it. Don't know if it was the owner or the shop.

I deleted the base gasket and advanced the timing and it runs just great (you would think it is a 10 mm). Total cost about $115. It is on the floor, on the right, and wears a 20" bar.

This is about the only saw i could have brought to the party.....1994 , 242 xp that had no pull start or top cover a duff piston and transfer on the bore . The first saw i did the emery and scotch-bright clean up on...golf piston (windowed ) and caber ring plus the old covers i had back from other saws i put good ones on for sale. Solid rather than a sparkler.
It was cheep and advertised as a "Husky 15 " saw, for parts "...I wish there were more about !
