Yesterday I went to a nearby auction and picked up a couple of saws. The saws available were two running husky 350, a non running 350 with bar less chain, a non running husky 346 no bar and front mount not attached to tank/handle assy, two running craftsman home owner saws, stihl 026 and a jonsered 2152.
The first two to sell were the runner 350's. I didn't write it down but I thought they brought 130-140 ea.
The non runner 350 brought 90. Craftsmans brought over 100. I got the stihl and the jonsered 2152 for 160 ea, both claimed complete runners. Then I was bidding on the 346 until the next bid would have been what I paid for the other two.
Did I miss out on a deal on the 346?
Did I overpay for the 026 or 2152?
Are husqvarna 350's that desirable? I haven't run a 350 or a 346. The same guy that was purchasing a lot of misc items for resale purchased the craftsmans and the 350's.
As far as the two I got, I attempted to start the stihl with the small amount of gas that came with it and no fire. The Jonsered started and needed choke. Did some cleaning on the 2152, leveled out the bar rails and fitted a used stihl .063 semi chisel chain. The chain that came with was an .050 with 74 links. The husqvarna laminate bar is supposed to have .058 with 72 drive links. Removed the metering diaphragm cover and reset the lever height. I kept the carb limiters in place and saw runs great.
