Imo, those "jumps" in size are too large, which of course makes an excuse for more saws - and of course you need a backup (or more) in each size....:zpong:
Yes i agree. That is a huge jump. And was thinking mine jumps from 50 up to 70. I better do some.looking for somerhing in the 60 cc range now.

Depending on your current 70cc class saw, if you were to acquire a Dolmar 6100 or a definitely a Husky 562xp, you might find your 70cc saw seeing a lot more time on the bench. I love my Stumpbroke 372 but I use my 562 now for a lot of things and the 372 doesn't come out to play until I have a fairly large Locust, Oak or Hedge of 25-28"+ DBH to take down. Ditto that for my 9010 which Randy stuffed a bunch of bananas into...

I dont use the 72 cc 038 much. its a shelf queen. Do most my cuttng with the 50 cc saws. But i would like to try something in the 60 cc range. Not sure what brand i would go with. My best dealer support is stihl or husky. I would probly go used if i were to get something.

Oh, I've said something very close to that, but I have all of [you] true, and dear friends to keep me from being reasonable.

Oh I've down sized and there is more to come. About a year and a half ago I had almost all Stihl with a few husky. I was trying to get a 3 saw combo for both oh series Stihl and 2 series husky. Well next thing I knew everything just blew up. Now I have sold 5 of my precious stihl (066, 044 10mm, 044 12mm and 2 metal tagged red levered 026's). I'm down to one ported runner, which is on the chopping block and 2 getting ready to send for massage's.

I'm in the same boat with you. Since I have received my 562 back from getting ported I haven't really touched my 254,262,371 and ms 460 which are all ported.

Case and point to my comment about the "support" system here.

I have been looking for a smaller rear handle saw for my almost 10 year old son. A few of my ne'er do well friends knew I had looked at/ considered a couple of older Shindaiwas that have been listed on various sites over the last two weeks. Well imagine my surprise to come home to a box in my office with this inside.

It needs a brake flag, and one top cover screw, but it runs very well.

The bar is one of a few NOS Poulan Pro bars I had hanging up in the garage. The saw came with a used bar, and a new loop of 325.

Nobody has copped to perpetrating this act of generosity, but I have my very strong suspicions.

Never met a Shinsaw I didn't like. Some of the best built small saws I've come across.
