I have thought about trying to blue a bar.
Its pretty easy with the Birchwood Casey wipe on cold blue. Degrease and rough it up good with sandpaper. Keep wiping on coats untils its as dark as u like then wipe with rag and cold water and then spray a rust prevenative on it

Are the oregons cheaper than the Stihl lights?

I found a 28" oregon reduced weight on ebay for 78 bucks shipped..i didnt need it but for that price i couldnt pass it up , it was a blue letter bar so idk if it was just old stock or what the deal was.

Don't know what fits Huskys, but the Stihl ES Light bars are very light for the length (have them in 28" & 36") but expensive. The Stihl 20" E bar is much lighter than the ES and almost as light as some premium light bars that cost much more.

I also run some 24" E bars on my ported 460s, very reasonable price and reasonably light.

Is there a 24" light bar from Total/Tsumara, Sugihara, etc.? For a Stihl 044 mount...

Or are they all considered "light" bars?

I just noticed Stihl does have a 25" light bar.
I bought a Sugi Light bar in 24" Stihl mount but I think its 25" actual length. I like the elongated stud slot of the Sugi's compared to Tsumuras and others. Good for when you use an adapter and run them on a Husky mount saw.
