I didn't know his was NOS per say.
What yr is yours.

Hey Chipper, this one is a 2014. I got it from a contact in Malaysia, the saw was made in Brazil. So it has been round the world, literally. It has never has fluid in it or a bar mounted, hell, I don't remember ever taking the clutch cover off. I have had it out of thee box, so it isn't NIB. I don't refer to any saw as minty, because I think that is a ghey expression to use about a saw and have seen saws all over the spectrum of condition referred to as such. NOS? It is new, and you can't go to the dealer and buy one I don't think? If there is another abbreviation/acronym I should use, let me know, gets a little tough to keep up with the current vernacular round here.

I hear what your saying, you answered my question perfectly:). Maybe NOBS new old Brazilian stock and NOSS new old Swedish stock :nusenuse: I don't know myself.
Also if you put it back in the box wouldn't it be NIB:pancarta:. I've sent out a lot of UIB saws myself .
I feel similar about "minty". Minty to some means it's in better condition than most from that era, for me when I hear minty I think of a saw that the plastic and paint looks great regardless of age and it has minor wear chips and or scratches, but similar to minty all those things are subject to each individuals perspective. If you look at my ads over yonder you might see that expression used, but more because it seems to be what everyone else calls them, I say great condition sometimes, but would rather let the pictures speak for themselves. Then I state all the defects that I know of doing the best I can to deter anyone who might be on the fence, saves a lot of wasted time and folks know what they are getting with no surprises. Besides I get to hold on to that saw a bit longer, no harm in that :D.
Thanks for the reply.

I have a Jonsered 2159 ported by MM. Only ran about two tanks through it since getting it back from him this spring. I just put a set of double dogs on it and fixed a weeping oil pump. Saw is a screamer and puts a smile on my face. I honestly never thought I would consider getting rid of it but I would if it's of interest. The 288 is most interesting to me followed by the 372. Hit me up.

A fine saw indeed FC, and I appreciate it. I am afraid the red will throw off the whole decor in the garage though. Whole lotta' orange and a little cream in there ya' know. Really, it would mess up the whole Feng Shui of it all and I would have to get the interior design consultant back in there and she was a real *b-word, complaining like she had never used saws for decoration and painted walls with Valspar equipment paint before or something. Gonna have to pass, but thank brother.

You need to take a different approach. You can get away with putting the orange ones in the same room as the the cream sickle ones but that approach won't work with a redheads. You'll need to start a new room just for them. You know, Feng Shui and all. Then it wouldnt look right with just one redhead so that will give you a reason to get another. Like that 2171W listed. :beautiful: :babeando:
