looking to trade this 346 for a comparable Sthil only. It’s in good shape, I replaced the P&C, carb kit, fuel line, impulse line, fuel filter manifold clamp, but I’m having a hard time getting it to start correctly. Initially after the rebuild it started as it should but I could not get the idle right. So I figured I’d rebuild the carb. Did something wrong I guess cus now it will only start on full choke. I’d never ran or owned a husky, and came across this from a guy at work that said wasn’t starting. It was bought by him new and had all original parts when it stopped working for him years ago. I’ve learned a lot from you guys, especially Mattyo’s channel! Thanks for The part by part 346 video, sir!! I did not attempt changing out the seals, as I don’t have a splitter. Also I didn’t change out the pesky tank vent, how the heck do you get those things out?? The P&C that I installed was just one that was on sale from HLS, so not the absolute best, but I’ve never had problems with Any of @gentilemans Products. I’m sure someone here would give this the love and respect this thing deserves, but in all honesty, I just plain don’t like Husqvarna :comp4:there I said it haha. Maybe I’m just too lowbrow to appreciate the finesse and workmanship of them, just like a good cigar... a $1 gas station tastes the same to Me as a rare Cuban, so call me unrefined.
I would like to trade for a comparable Stihl, preferably 50 ish CC.... 0 models are My favorite. wanting to keep $ out of the equation, and in U.S. Only please, for shipping reasons. I NEED another user saw for this wood season, I’m already running behind. My converted 029s/ now 039 has been doing all the work, and I really need a limbing saw. Most of what I cut is pine, piñon, cedar, and brush oak, so a monster saw is overkill for me. The 039 is perfect, but less weight more nimble is what I want... hence my interest in the 346’s reputation.
This is my first transaction on OPE, but I have done many trades, purchases and sales on my other favorite site, Multitool.org, same member name JBW1 if you’d like to do some homework on me. I want to keep the trade as fair and straight forward as possible. I will attach pics, a video of what it’s doing the parts that I replaced earlier this month and will provide other pics and answer any questions I can. Long winded, but want to be as transparent as possible, since I haven’t been around here too long.
And now without further ado...

So my next thing I was going to change was the part between carb and boot. It seems like the threads in the left hole are semi stripped and not tightening down as well as the right side. May be the issue?? Idk I don’t want to mess with it anymore for fear of running too lean. I redneck engineered a possible solution but not a proper solution, just want to see if it would help any. Tightened down a little more But does lock down like the other side. Don’t know if that’s normal. I hate plastic haha. Pic of the 2 screws, notice the left is not sticking out as far as the right, don’t know if that’s by design.

The starter spring is getting a little weak and the cord could use replacing, but the plastic gear is OE and looks good.
I also will include the OE clutch cover Brake spring, etc. It’s fine I lost the upper pin that holds the hardware to the cover :eusa_doh:. So I just replaced the whole thing.

I have an 024 but it needs rebuilt. I could kick in some cash.
Thanks for the reply, I really do need something that I can get to using with little work. I don’t have time right now to wait for parts. Sorry

You have to find an online host like vimeo and link it.

Or convert a video to gif. If only @exCanuck could allow mp4 uploads in 240-360p enough for 2 minutes maybe, I know xenforo supports them, just not here.

Do you have a cash price in mind? Gonna be tough to get a runner 0 series Stihl outside of an 023 for this saw.

Thanks, I’m not against MS. Trade price, I’m not sure, as I haven’t seen many for sale in awhile. It has life and is a good build candidate for the right person. I’d probably regret getting rid of it later on but I’m in a tight spot For a useable, dependable saw, not a collector item. Thought I’d give it a whirl on here if someone wants to off load a stihl that they are bored with.
