I want to do more than just talk tachs I want some advice. Currently I have 3. Why 3 well that's a long story. But the most used is probably the oppama corded tach. I like the corded ones as the have the best cycle rate. Best overall for 1 tach operation would probably go to the dti 20k, and the stihl well its my least favorite. Only bought it because I thought I needed it for the 661cm builds. Know all this said. I would like some really small corded tachs I can just 2 sided tape to the top of the saw and run. I do want corded so I can just tape the wire to the coil wire. Any recommendations? 20160204_153251.jpg

I have the Hardline tack on my saws, but my DTI-20K refreshes faster

The best I've found is a stihl d-303 I think.

I have use about all kinds of tachs , from cheapo , oppamas , stihls , husqys fast tachs , slow tachs until the stihl MDG1 if you put them to the same chainsaw under the same conditions you will notice small deferences in readings from one to other
so i cant really tell if the MDG1 that cost 1000 is more accurate from a tach wich cost 100 , or if the oppamas are better than the fast tachs
personally i use them for just having a first idea about where my rpms are but always i make the combination ears + tach this work better for me
i have notice diferent readings from the same tach when is cord conect and when is no cord conect
i have notice than the saw not four strocking when i put the H rpms only with the tach and with the numbers that the factory tell
So again ears+ tach and some cuts in the wood will give you the best results

for what you buy ? MDG1 work from a ms 170 to a 661 to a efi concrate saws................... ALL IN ONE :jump:
