Anyone ever try Kool grind or anything like it on there grinding wheel for sharpening chains? I don't normally have a problem with Stihl wheels unless its a rocked chain and have to take a good chunk off the tooth. then I notice higher heat even with slower taps of the wheel.

I have a Kool Mist attachment that I can move from one grinder to the other as needed. Blows a little mist of air/water on the tooth while grinding. I use a CBN wheel and find there are fewer issues with overheating but you still need to go slowly to avoid overheating the tooth. Keeping the wheel clean is also important, there is a cleaning stick supplied with the wheels that I use from time to time as well as the mister.
