I always kept a 25” on mine, and it never complained. Keep the rakers in check and it will cut through oaks smoothly. I wouldn’t go any bigger however, IMO.I think you all convinced me to go the with 361 clone. Now, what bar/chain combo for it?
I would do 0.050”.I'm thinkin g 20" 3/8's, 50 or 63? Which is an easier chain to find at big box stores?
On their site?I found a Holzfforma G366 for a dang decent price... so that is on it's way.
I’ve used two farmertec coils on an oem 361, both lasted maybe a year under fairly light use. The first one was super lazy acceleration and actually started backwards once. After this one quit I tried another and while it ran better than the first it only lasted 6-7 months. The guy couldn’t be talked into a 200$ oem coil so he said see what I could do and he went and bought a ms250 to cut sauna wood. I researched and figured since people use the ms441 coil and the ms361 coils on modded 880’s I would try a non mtronic 441 coil on his 361. Saw ran fantastic and not sure if it’s limited to a lower rpm than an oem 361 coil but didn’t seem like it while cutting. Is the timing late on the AM coil?
His kid took over the 361 and uses it quite a bit and still running wellI’ve used two farmertec coils on an oem 361, both lasted maybe a year under fairly light use.
