J-red 49sp VS 52E piston

I ported my 49SP and need a piston and ring. would a 52 fit in a 49? I know they are the same. Would I be better off to buy a 52 piston and rings or a 49 piston and ring.

Base gasket? Do I need a base gasket? Could I put it together and tighten it a little extra and not worry about it? Would I need to use some silicone?

Pistons interchange. Only difference is 2 rings on the 52E and 1 for the 49's. There are AM 49SP pistons out there; don't know about anything for the 52.

Gaskets can be deleted. I use threebond 1184, but whatever you're using in other saws should work fine.

Thanks guys, I don't think I will need parts. I had a junk 49 that i use as parts and stole the piston and it look fine. How would I delete the gasket? Im going to try and start it today. I use high temp silicone I use it on a lot of stuff probably to much but it doesn't hurt.

I use Motoseal, but there are many other brands that will work. Must be heat and fuel stable.

Hylomar universal blue threebond or motoseal. Fuel resistant is most important.
