Typed in "logger definition" online and this is the first thing that came up:
log·ger
/ˈlôɡər,ˈläɡər/
noun
1. a person who fells trees for timber; a lumberjack.

Meanwhile, I learned at least two useful things from this thread. 1. Questions of ms462 durability and reliability have been put to rest sufficiently so that the OP has found himself with a whole bench full of them to port. 2. The OP has worked long enough with these saws that the porting specs have been pretty much nailed.

Responding to a post that was on topic, several pages back, my 10 mm 044 was my ONLY saw for 18 years. It is a great saw and I will always keep it, but my go to saws now are my ported 462s. I'm sure they would have not trouble pulling a 28" bar, but the powerhead is so light I prefer them with the 20" light or a 24" bar. I've got bigger bars on bigger saws.

Also, I did not think there were any 372s that were lighter than a 462 … I mean, we are talking 13.2 lbs here, the same as the new 562. But there are many versions of those Husky's and I am admittedly not an Husky expert, so I could be wrong.

Jeff, I'm hoping there will still be a GTG this year, and you can run both of mine and see what you think.

Admittedly, as I get older I prefer lighter and smoother and less maintenance. (no tuning, clean air filters).
Thank you Mike good info

It’s the quarantine from people that’s worse than winter. I’m lucky to still go to work and see 100s a day if I choose to interact with them.

i think what dave was trying to say is that cutting trees doesnt make one a “logger”, and neither does working for one. i have no doubt @huskyboy has tree cutting skills ill never have (and full respect to guys who run a saw all day), but there are tree guys who arent loggers. maybe im wrong, not tryin to put words in daves mouth, but thats my .02. flame on.
Well said.

Been gone a while. Is this the new logging thread exclusive to expert opinions on whos a pro logger or just a wood tick with a 462? They do run good and dont break while logging, I can attest to that.

Without getting all political, there is a certain amount of F U K’ T brought about by the fog of uncertainty that has enveloped the whole planet. Otherwise, it seems that too hot or too cold is usually what triggers forum guys into arguing.
