ISO Instructional Video converting round to Square.

The first thing to do when you start square filling is forget everything you do when you round file. The aprouch angles and direction you file are completely different. Some of the pics in this thread look like guys are round filling with a square file. They will cut but not very good.

With learning hand filing square, just don't give up! Eventually when you get good muscle memory its easy and a lot quicker. The hardest thing is learning a technique that's much easier demonstrated in person, not over the net. I developed bad habits before good ones, ya just got to hang in and get used to having sore hands.
