Absolutely hilarious that guys are getting so indignant about a Husky or Stihl from Brazil, built in a Husky/Stihl owned factory. Yet, all the cheap clones from China are OK?

Or the 90-100% homeowner saws from manufacturers Stihl & Husqvarna that are labeled made in China feel good? For example Stihl 251 ?

Excellent point!

My only gripe about most of the Brazilian saws is that I can't order them!

272, 288 original 372...……..pallet of each please. Make that 2 pallets of the 372's. :)

This is a common feeling . There has been plenty of the same talk over Dolmar /Makita making some of the saws in The P R of C . Again, there company run factories and not generic low cost makers.

Yugoslavian "Tomos" saws !! I had a 266 se if i remember correctly.
Still a bunch of used ones around.

Yugoslavian Volkswagen Golf II, also still driving around.

Manufacturing a product in a low cost workforce country WILL reflect on quality!

Look at JVC and Sony, once proud of claiming made in Japan - now barely being recognized as average products.
Well, in all fairness, I guess Kenwood f-ed up JVC.

What I despise is that "high quality" brand products are becoming more expensive, or at least stay overpriced albeit being manufactured in China.

"The location change to the manufacturing of equipment", maybe a subject you want to make a separate thread out of ?

Let's take this derail a little further. My son's first dirt bike was a Honda CRF 50 made in Japan. That things has been beat to death and never had a problem. His CRF 110 is made in China and has had some electrical issues. Most of them were just connectors not plugged in good! It reflects on the poor quality of the employees.

Not necessary!
I don't go through equipment, gadgets and other things fast enough to truly care about premium brand manufacturers killing their own reputation in order to make even more profit. :)

Apologies for the derail. ;)

Damn Hooskies. LOL
Sorry guys.
Hooskie came out with a new 565 I thought? I haven't heard much chatter on the 565 at all.

I think a 580 something should be possible with minor weight increase to challenge the 500i in power.

These are all saws that die out in 2019 in europe i know so far:

Husqvarna: 372xp xtorq, 576xp, 390xp, 395xp, 3120xp

Dolmar: 115, 9010

Solo: 665, 675, 681

Stihl: 880
What I find strange Steph is the ...lack of forward information... from the companies concerned. Here we are all but into 2019 and in "product to market terms" , next to no time before some major saws are no longer to be available. The only thing we really know anything about is the 572 to fill in the 372 gap ..but.. having the 80cc and over just gone.. with no known plan seems very odd. In the UK the market for the upper 100 cc end is less common but the 90cc class is well used. If there is a plan , it seems strange that it hasn't been mentioned or if it has , not more so.

I'm on board with the theory that a new AT 90cc will come out rather quickly, and bolted to the new and seemingly "overbuilt" 572 bottom end. I wouldn't be surprised to see this "modular" theme move forward with 80cc, 90cc and maybe even 94cc top ends bolted on to that 572 bottom end. Kind of like Dolmar did with the 6400-7900 family, and the 2-series Hooskies of yesteryear. Makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint.

I think the 572 would be perfect for the factory to slap a bigger piston and cylinder on there and make an 80cc version with no other changes. I would also like to see a dedicated 90cc version come out designed for balancing and av setup for the longer bars.

572 is heavy enough to balance good with a 42” cannon. Lol
