Exactly.

Take both scenario saws from sea level to 8,000 ft then which one is better?

If 215 is the slower saw at sea level, will it still be slower in thin air? Don't know the exact equation, but guess it wold be in the 170-80 range at elevation.
I suspect I'd suffocate at 8,000 ft , much less run a saw ...lol [emoji513]

How about hot humid sticky air ?

Zoo City Sawz

Funny you should ask. The first ported saws I ever ran was an 038 and an 064 done our esteemed MM. In the above conditions. They ran great but i could tell they would run better in what some drag racers call "righteous air".

It's how the air is delivered and the condition of the air. Ever see a a guy ice the turbo between passes. Catch a turbo car on the street after it's all warmed up,shut down time baby. Also, Blown as in supercharged engines usually don't run a lot of compression.

Again I'm only speaking about a 064 or 066 there about all I've done for 10 years

It applies to other models too.

I have an ugly old 346 that blows 180...ill gladly stack it up against any saw in ots class that blows over 200...just a measly old woods port :)

Supercharged engines generally run a little lower than normal compression due to the higher RPM's and the air being forced in.
Helps prevent bent connector rods.

I built a very strong 026 and 346 with little compression.
026 is 180 and the 346 ain't much more

Thats all I need in a saw.

I like ported saws over stock because I tend to be heavy handed on dogging a saw into wood. I much prefer Torque over speed.

I dont care if a saw is .0005 seconds faster in a cut than another saw. Nor how much compression one saw has over another.

To me, as long as a saw cuts wood and has the torque, I am happier than a pig in a chit pond.
