No air prefiltering? C’mon stihl. Maybe they were trying to simplify it though? Not enough room maybe with the fuel injection stuff?

It's going to be interesting to see how the Fuel Injection can be modified. Will it be like mtronic?
This saw will be a whole new animal.
Hopefully it’s done automatically like the Mtronic I think Stihl will try and make it idiot proof here’s hoping at least

Hopefully max flow filters will save Stihl again in that department
Shame a 661 is about 1200$ and you have to buy a maxflo right off the bat. I’ve seen saws with no air injection perform well, but the 661 is not one of them. Good saw otherwise.

Wow! Maybe they will lower the price of the 462?

I'd say it'll be cheaper when it gets here. That's why I don't understand people buying them from other countries. I guess just to say they were the first in the US to have one.

In Australia a 661C is retailed at $2100 AUD ($1546 USD) thats why poeple get them from over seas.........

That's my point. They are much cheaper here. Guys here buy a saw not offered here for much more than it'll be when it's release here.

Exactly why I always quote the pricing relative to another saw. It is that relation that is most important, $50 less than a 661 will likely be the same spread but the 661 in NA is much cheaper than in Germany.
