I have to disagree with you on this one

They may never come up and give you a hug but I would think that the major players are well aware of the "hobby" aspect of the chainsaw market and they see you and others like you as a good thing for two reasons

A: You guys make them look good by putting out romping stomping saws that get splashed all over the interwebs and cause people to become brand conscious...

2nd: and most importantly, every saw that you and your counterparts port/mod/Mooberize is one less saw they have to worry about EVER coming back on them for a warranty claim. Thats gotta touch their Grinch sized bean counter hearts...

I wouldn’t give them that much credit. Pretty sure the local sales reps here don’t know anything about ported saws other than it voids the crappy warranty. We have two dealerships that went to other brands here because they said Husqvarna didn’t give two chits about them once they had them hooked.
