I bought a corded Milwaukee 1/2 in. drill and broke a half inch bit off in two places..

I'd stay outta those two places.

I've had that happen on a chrome moly with a new carbide cutter, but only once. Those are hard but seem brittle?

Used to use similar hollow milling bits when I was younger working in the steelshop. Like you say, they were so hard, but if you knocked them, it was like they were made of glass!

my dad has one of those Milwaukee drills. if the bit grabs it will pull your shoulder out of socket after it breaks your wrist.

if you just need bearings, they can be had pretty cheap from ebay. im with you tho, i havent used mine enough to worry about wearing anything out yet haha

i used to do some sheetmetal/hvac stuff for a friend. i thought i had forearm strength... using a 6” hole cutter with the dewalt corded drill he had was dangerous...
