the paint was faded to white on one side. I prefer original if there's much left. that & a ra are the only ones I ever repainted. top cover in pic is b4. my p40 should be yellow, tho...
the "medallion" was after omc took over iel/pioneer. the old iel plant is right behind mike acres current warehouse. will get pics one day. looks like it did in 50s. ra manual has pic of the building. and, yes ive been to mike's couple times. last time was to get the story on the "medallion". a few, including me, hadn't seen one before.
This p50 had a broken fuel line in the tank. Just a little crack. It was sucking air and no fuel. carb was clean as can be. Sounded goo piss revving in the garage.
Friend of mine gave me this last night.
Pioneer 620. I heard pioneer made a 620 super. I don't know if it's a super or not. I really don't know much at all about this saw. Anyone know how to tell if it's a super or not? Any other info you guys could share would be nice too.
im thinkin no. would be 620s on tag. super on top. don't know difference, if any. have been educated [wrong] b4, tho... looks like it will clean up good. what's the fullwrap in the box? lookin for one for 038.
I remember reading something that said the only difference between the 620 and the 620super was the carb. I could be wrong.
The full wrap in the background, box of parts and the partially covered saw is my hybrid I'm building. I made the full wrap from the 044 half wrap and added a piece from an old 038 half wrap I had.
That's a regular 620, super has the copper top and Tillotson hl 129 carb not otherwise no difference. Top cover has no super on it either here's a picture of nos top.
Thanks for all the info. I think it will be a fun resto project. I haven't looked real close at it yet but it seems to be all there and in real nice shape. It feels like the compression is good. Hopefully all it needs to run is a carb kit and a few other rubber parts. I haven't checked for spark yet. If you guys think of any other info I'd love to hear it. Thanks
