Im glad you are here Norm. Your 2101xp thread on AS was one of the best/successful threads on AS. It was a great thread from start to finish. Hopefully we will have some "stand out" threads like that one here on OPE.

I reckon that I have no idea how a chainsaw forum can create such intense reactions, but I can see it does.
I'd say anything in person that I'd say in a forum - and sometimes that is some pretty dumb stuff. I am wildly curious about learning some of the things that go over my head (about chainsaws), and every now and then I think I have something I can add.
I tend to assume that most others feel the same way - with differing degrees of what goes over our head, and what we can add.
If that's how you feel, how can people get so butthurt?

Maybe I don't want to know! Lol.


I do know that for some people, what happens on forums directly affects their business - for those guys I can empathise with getting butthurt. Even if it is just by the small percentage of the human race that no matter what you try are just never going to be tolerable.

Shoooot, I'd say more in person than I would on a forum. Too many ways for text to be misinterpreted. You meant something in a humorous tone yet someone else gets.... butthurt.

It is the ones who assume they know more than the rest. I've only been moderately active for a week or so, and have already seen 1 individual who refuses to be civil, thinks they know best, won't accept new/other possibilities, and thinks that is how everyone else works/feels so this individual sees no reason to even attempt to act politely.
