I think its the piston skirt scrapping with the lower opening in the intake opening, shearing off aluminum on the piston and nikasil from the cylinder

Considering the steps I take when beveling a port.......that thing had to have ate something....somehow......someway.

I'll fix it.......but I know my port wasn't left rough enough to cause that.

I agree. Something got ingested and wedged that skirt, but that sliver looks like sheared nikasil
