Great. Now I'm gassy.
That's why I'm not going to be able to attend this year. I have the airfare, car, and motel covered, but the t-shirt I want just blows my budget all to hell.
I appreciate the sentiment, but it actually isn't in the cards. About all I can afford is the shirt.so if someone were to pay for the shirt you would have no excuse?
i would sacrifice a saw i own in a raffle for you to attend the gtg.I appreciate the sentiment, but it actually isn't in the cards. About all I can afford is the shirt.

That's very kind of you, but I've made amends with missing it this year, with the hope that I'll be in a better position for next year's GTG.i would sacrifice a saw i own in a raffle for you to attend the gtg.
Spaghetti strap?I'll split it with ya, you want a half shirt or a tube top?
alright jon. i understand i was down that same road last year. That's very kind of you, but I've made amends with missing it this year, with the hope that I'll be in a better position for next year's GTG.

i forget to tell you welcome to the ported saw club. That would leave me a handkerchief, I'm good with that.![]()
A "ported" saw?......That sounds scary......i forget to tell you welcome to the ported saw club.
He graduated with honors from high school......and he has completed several small engine courses. He is far from disadvantaged.......and seeing him play that card sorta pisses me off. Stop that crap Jake. I know you better than that.
.
Al i didn't know the saw was in that in that bad of shape when i sold it to dave but it ran ok it just wouldn't hold tune in the carb when i sold it. But i appreciate what you guys have done and all the work that was done to the saw originally i thought a set or rings along with seals would have fixed it right up.The drama of this thread, and many others, is disturbing. As usual, I'm not getting it. Perhaps I am learning disabled as well.
I know the Moo man quite well.
This saw was just a gift to Jake by some generous folks here. I haven't seen anything insulting come from Jake. Perhaps some uncomfortableness about receiving a gift from an unknown person, but that's about it. I think many of us may have reacted just the same.
The story on the saw is as goes...
Someone bought Jake's old crappy 266SE off of him and sold/gave/swapped to another member. The saw wa in bad shape internally. The piston was one of the worst many saw in a running saw. Squish in the front was apparently in excess of .125.

A bunch of guys starting chatting about it and decided to give it a go. It got a NOS 272 P&C that was ported with some good numbers.
Then it got carried away, because the 272 jug required a ton of parts that simply didn't fit the original 266. So parts started being shipped to Moo from the corners of the earth. The generosity was astounding.
At one point, the Moo man even tried his hand at hydrodipping, but it didn't work out. View attachment 89194
So the build was nearly finished, after swapping in 100 parts that weren't know to differ from a 266/272. Like the entire intake tract, the bolts to jug, the clutch cover that wouldn't clear the decomp, the replacement cover that got ruined in the hydrodip attempt, etc...
The flywheel springs weren't any good, so Moooooo threw his hands in the air and the Mango Man offered to finish the saw up.
That's pretty much it. Was a fun idea and the Moo man hopes Jake likes the saw. He thought his 064 might have just been too pretty to toss in his truck for work, but that this lil beast might suit Jake well.
