Donor saw (yes I'm serious-I can't believe it either) is a NIB 10mm 044.

Very interesting. I have one of these coming and have considered the exact same mod. Did you have to turn the webs down as well as clearancing the rod? I did this once several years ago but forget the particulars.

I have a 044 12mm case, that engine should have been left in tact.
