Everything on that saw is simple
I can agree with that, with my 55, 272 and 2100, they are basically just bigger versions of each other and I find the 2 series some of the easiest saws to work on...the 5 series on the other hand are just parts crammed into smaller packages...no room for my big fingers :(

I actually despise the stupid plastic carb block of the 55 and alike rancher series saws. Ham fisted people always seem to have them stripped out and or they like to have air leaks for me. Despite them being harder to assemble and disassemble I will take the current intake boot styles over that design any day. But thr 670’s 268’s and that stuff is very simple.

What would you guys consider a sell price for a 272xp, rebuilt with meteor piston and OE cylinder. Has about 3-4 tanks on it since the rebuild and over all its about a 7 id say for looks. Thoughts? He is asking $500 local sale.

Hard to say rebuilt as in all new bearing seals and piston kit or just new piston and rings with original bearings ect. That factors in along with new prices on saws going up so like it or not that brings the price of nice used up some. I see 029/290’s going for 3-350$ so i guess this may be close.

If it were a full rebuild, I think the price would be in the ballpark. If not, then I would say he is high.

I am not a good judge of price, but I found a 272xp at the dump that ended up taking about $200 in parts for bearings, gaskets, piston, air filter setup and cover. It looks like a 5 maybe, but it does run good and has good power/balance in my opinion.

Over on the Firewood Hoarders Forum, there was a discussion about a reasonable price for a 272 was somewhere between $250 and $300 for what it is worth. Here is a link to the page: Firewood Hoarders Club Forum - Husky 272xp Value

Here is another thread on AS: Arborist Site - Husky 272xp - How Much is it Worth? saying something similar, around $300 max.

IMO there is nothing "straight forward " about that saw .For example this fuel line comes out of the left side of the fuel tank, crosses under the handle/tank and ends up on the right side of the carb .The anti vib mounts are so tight it's very difficult to connect them .Husqvarna for some reason uses under sized starter drums makng them difficult to roll over because they have no decomp valves .Now saying all that as a rule the brand has plenty of power if you can get them started .So it's either install a decomp or a kick starter .This saw,281 plus a 2100 and a couple of top handles are the only Husqvarna's I own .Then you have the IPL's that list the part numbers but not the actual part name .It must be Sweedish thing because Partner does the same thing .
