Looks like I was wrong.I posted an explanation about the various cylinders earlier, but I found the service bulletin and thought I'd share that as well.

She's running good. Has your Dad seen/run it yet?
Thank you for the kind words and for following along.Great thread/project. Glad she's back up and running. Well done!
That's a newer version. Looks like it's spent a lot of time in the sun.Appreciate you taking the time to do this restoration thread. Lots of good info. Neighbor brought me a present today.

Yeah. I believe it sat in a junk pile for a few years. Cleaned it last night. To my surprise the piston and cylinder look good. It started and ran for a couple seconds with some mix dumped down the carb. That's a newer version. Looks like it's spent a lot of time in the sun.
It's got the 30yr old slide choke on the air cover. That's a newer version. Looks like it's spent a lot of time in the sun.
For some reason I thought the white/cream toped 50 were the first, then the black toped ones after. Am I wrong in thinking this? It's got the 30yr old slide choke on the air cover.
Howdy. That little spring may be for the accel pump of the carb. You got the shaft out of the carb??
That's always a plus when you find internals that are still good!! They are nothing special, but not junk either. I'd like to find a nice mint one sometime just to play around with it.Yeah. The white tops were first, but I just restored a 300th anniversary black top.For some reason I thought the white/cream toped 50 were the first, then the black toped ones after. Am I wrong in thinking this?
I figured out what the spring was for. Should have updated the post.
It for the choke. It's what pushes the little ball bearing against the shafts detents, and locks the choke open or closed. Someone must have been in it at one point and couldn't figure out what it was for and just stuck it in at a random spot.
