I posted an explanation about the various cylinders earlier, but I found the service bulletin and thought I'd share that as well.

That's one I have not ran into, thanks for pointing this out.
My experience with the 5000 was like you stated earlier. Darn thing got stolen before I was able to prove to myself "why" I liked it better.

Looks like I was wrong.

Time for an update. Got the last part in that was needed.

The chain guide showed up and I bought a cap head screw and washer to fasten it in place. There's the setup that was holding the AV bushing in.


Mounted, now the power head is complete.


Primed the bar. I was going to put some Ford gray implement paint on it, but the local hardware did not have any.


New chain for it. You can tell this is old stock. Its faded from sitting on the shelf for years.

And she's together ready for a test run.
This old girl came a long ways. Still wish it could have cleaned up better. The important parts are good and clean though.

Here's a video of it running and cutting.
New chain, I did cut some dirty wood with it before this video and it slowed down a little. The wood is a 6x6 piece of white oak.

I've has seen it, but not run it. He might run it today though. We shall see. He had me cut a piece of wood for him, to make sure it would cut..... he seems to be tickled he has his saw back and running.
