I have a old Husqvarna 77. Fortunately it was rebuilt with a new cylinder & carb kit and not used much afterwards. Problem is the chain bar side plates. If the chain gets a little bit loose, it eats them and I can't find any parts listed for the old 77. I see the side plate Husqvarna 501 44 44-01 inside and the 501 44 45 -01 outside sold by baileysonline looks just like it. Does anybody know if it will fit my 77?

He's not here, but rx7man on AS was a fan of these and might know something. Maybe a member here can help as well though

If it's a husqvarna part and looks just like it then I'd say it's worth ordering.

Is your chain and bar gauge matched correctly?

The actual plates for the 65/77 family are NLA. Starting with the next chassis, (480CD, 285CD....) everything went to the same plate that was on the 272/288. (the part numbers in the first post) I'm guessing that plate should work, but you might have to flatten out the bend on the top. I could check it on one of my 77's this evening if you guys want. Be out in the shop anyway doing some prep for this weekend's GTG. :)

I ordered some, I have a nice saw so it is worth some parts. I learned you don't let it idle much, it loves gas. It has been with me a long time.
