I doubt it, OPE has enough foreign members that acquiring one should be possible.

Has anybody had a chance to port one of these 562mk2 yet to see how well they gain? Was considering buying one for my Dad and getting it ported up for him if they make worthwhile improvements

I like mine a lot. It stays on the work van and gets used regularly. I’m pruning a hefty Euc with some decent sized wood tomorrow…I’ll get some pics.

Dan I take it no more vapor lock and such as we saw on the MK1 version. Your climate puts you right there with a large portion of the US.
On a job site, time is money, and fussing around with restarts is a big no no for a business owner.

Exactly Mike. That was the only complaint I had about my old 562 was if it sat in the sun during summer months, you might as well grab another saw. It would restart any other time except for summer. Especially when you are paying a crane by the hour, saw problems just aren’t something you need.

The Mark II seems be a solid unit. I keep a short bar on mine for work up in the tree mostly. It’s very light and well balanced.

Been pretty happy with mine
The run on choke is nice, usually one pull starts cold. Only been is high 60’s but no heat / start issues so far. Both of mine are ported but mark 2 does seem to be little stronger than mark 1, smoother, revs fast. I do wish they would make air filter little bigger, holds them back, ported anyway. Installed red beard foam filter on old one, very noticeable difference, higher rpm in the cut, and also eliminated all hot start, run issues, I’m assuming because of the big hole in the top cover.

Also like the absence of the hole in side of top cover that blows saw dust in your face

Run on choke is sure different. I'm assuming it'll run like that for a warm-up before you blip the throttle? V3 version?
So the 550xp mkII had V2 & V3 autotune? My 2022 550 doesn't run on choke.

There sure have been advances in AT, generally your homeowner who may miss the very short blubber and flood the saw.

That’s odd. My 550mkII won’t run on choke. It’ll just pop like the old mk1’s did.

It's the Stihl saws that will run on choke.
That's the beginning of the reset procedure for them. After 30 seconds of run time on choke, the reset is triggered. So don't let it warm up on choke for more than 10 - 15 seconds if at all.
