Hello everyone. A buddy of mine asked me to ask the forum about a saw that he was just gifted. It's a brand new Husqvarna 555. Anyone have any experience with this saw? If so has it been reliable? Is there any problems that seem to be common with this model? And is the autotune accurate? Any information is appreciated.

I would tell him 562 mark 2 or a ms 362. But since he was gifted it from his grandmother I feel like saying that would be rude and unlike myself he is brand loyal so 362 would have be disregarded anyways. In my opinion the 500 series are some of the slickest looking saws out there. I'm just not to sure about autotune.

The 555’s are a fine saw. Not as much peak power as the 562’s. They have the small bar mount (K095). I would tell him to keep it and run it.

We sold a lot of 450s at work, so the 50-55 cc saws are popular. I had a coworker that really loved his 460, but found it a bit heavy for extended use. I have a 445 and find it is good for limbing and small stuff.

Autotune is handy, though some people like wrenching on H/L screws.

Damn i didn't know the mount was smaller!! I was going to offer him a few bars but they all fit on my 372. I would have figured it being a 60cc it would have utilized the bigger mount bolts. I was hoping to hook him up with a 18,20,24,and with adapter a 25. the 25 inch bar in particular could have possibly changed his mind on being 100% brand loyal once he felt it on the saw. light bars in are freaking amazing. He has only ever ran husky solid bars.

A 555 is basically a 562XP with small mount bar and no stuffers, smaller transfers. Slightly lighter weight. I don’t think the average weekend sawyer could tell the difference. I’ve got a ported 555 and ported 562Xp and I kinda like the 555 better.

Came across these pictures of my 555. It has cut some big Oak and never complained. Very nice balance and power to weight ratio. Mine will be staying in my line up.

I know my original post was a little bit ago but I'm just now seeing this comment. With it being ported can it run a 24 up to 28 inch bar and chain? If there even is a small mount 24 and 28 I honestly don't know. Your comment has me super interested in getting a 555 for myself. Also can you add case stuffers to it?

Definitely 24" k095, probably some 28" floating around.

562/555 can pull and oil 28", but it won't be super happy. 20-24" is the sweet spot, unless you want a small firewood monster.

Yes!! 😂 My current firewood monster is a 372 OE but I'm thinking about getting a modern saw. I can't afford a 572 so next thing in line 555 or 562 or if I really stretch it a ms362. A 28 inch b&c is what I run on my 372 sometimes I run my 25 inch on it
