Man now im gonna have oc and have to go to my buds and pull the 394 back down and invetigatei used the fmrtc 288 fy, i swore i double chkd the keyway in relation to the magnets. The saw runs perfect, i noodled some big ugly oak firewood rounds,to load it good for a test run
It appears the 288 flywheel has advanced timing compared to the 394. 394s do run with considerable advance so it would make sense that a 288 flywheel would fit. However ....a 394 flywheel might make the 288 timing too retarded. ..who knows.
If anyone has better info let me know. Visually it's about 1/2" difference around the circumference. ..
circumference is 14.7" or so.... divide that by 360. Roughly 40 thousands is 1 degree. So ... it's about 12 degrees advanced
That sounds about right, its been 13 years since I modified 394`s, did some stuff with them around that time but kept no records back then. Blew one up right in my hands, oopsie!
