I can’t figure how they sell them so cheap especially if you priced out the parts individually! I did the same to a 562 a while back. Got the short block from Bob, it was like $160 shipped, HL had them cheaper than that not long ago

Well. I might just do a 562 rebuild thread sometime in the summer. Im gonna be gettin a job and gettin dem big moneys lol. Hope to be working full time by the time June comes around

Got the piston+ gasket kit in the mail yesterday! Still waiting on a few other smalls. My boneheaded self forgot to order bearings. BUT, ordered em up yesterday and should be in the mailbox nest week

Yes sir! I got a meteor piston but it needs to be cleaned up a little bit. And i am pretty sure hyway does make one

I like the hyway popups in 268 that's what I'm running in one now.
I need to comp check it
It runs stronger than any of my stock 266/268
I ordered 2 more for the 266/268 and 2 for the 272s to try.

This may be off topic but I purchased a Hyway popup for my 372 X torq when I rebuilt it a while back and it definitely had more grunt than a stock X torq. I am gonna have to buy one and see how she runs

The 268 style piston in a 266 is a gain by itself even without a popup, the partial skirt feeds the transfers better.

Cleaning and tear-downing. I is a major slacker when it comes to updating rebuild threads lol

Bearings on the crank. I pressed them on instead of heating the inner races up and sliding them on. All went on nice and easy

New bar studs in. I replaced them because they were stripped pretty bad

Bottom end assembled+ Flywheel side seal carrier in place.

Oil Pump installed, the seal was driven to the right depth as well
