I'm aware of their different specs. Different weights and cc classes. What I'm curious about is, which is more reliable? What issues have you encountered? 592 is off the table. I just want to know specifically about these two models. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

That's vague lol Alot of people love them... Alot of people hate them
A lot of the haters are too ignorant to understand the different operating characteristics than the 300 series saws and cause their own issues with them that have nothing to do with the saw. Some haters buy them just to *b-word about them, they never had any intentions of giving it a chance. Probably 10–15% actually have a legit reason in their own mind.

I know the decline of the human race is on full display daily for anyone to see that doesn't have their head up their ass...

But if it's actually true that people would spend a 1000 dollars to dislike something just to make a point about it on the internet...that's next level special education.

585 just because you don't have to deal with the Husky's version of M-Tronic..

I have about ten saws including the 500i. 90% of the time I pick up the 572.
Something about it just feels good.
I've got a 500i as well but no 5 series. I've got a couple 372s though

I had a ported 572 for a while. I thought it was a fantastic saw. Felt good in the hands, good ergonomics, had great power. Only sold it to try something different for a bit. Wouldn’t hesitate to own another one. It didn’t give me an ounce of trouble. Moved on from there to a ported 400, then a 500. All good saws.

572s like to spin the PTO bearing, its an undersized bearing and there’s no case reinforcement, issue that arise especially with heavy handed users. I’d get the 585 just for this reason alone, it runs the lower end bearings of the 390💪 and I’ve never heard or seen this issue with the 585/592.

Does that mean they are still using the 6202 bearings?? Like they did on the 372!

I've had multiple 385/390s with bad bearings lol.

Well...it's a 5-series...so...
I've had a ton of 5 series saws, right back to the beginning running the 576.
Very few problems with them, outside of what you'd have with any other saws.
In the early 550 and 562 there were certainly problems with the fuel heating up, but by 2014 or so they had most of that worked out.
The biggest issue I see is people missing the pop when starting them and then they flood them out. I have a buddy who send me a text now and then so I can walk him thru the steps of how to start his flooded 545mk2, it's been a while, should be getting one soon lol.
My favorite 50cc saw for limbing is a late model 550mk1, I have a couple. I also have a 550mk2, 2260, ported 562, 572(could be missing something), I like them all. In the past I had a few different 540xp, they were good saws too.
Never owned a 585 or 592, but the guys seem to have muffler problems with the 592's.

Main thing on the 585/592 mufflers is the cover plate. It comes loose and rattles around and starts beating the mounting tubes that run through the body of the muffler. Those start to get loose and the whole thing rattles itself apart. A good buddy just had to replace one. Like the early 3120 mufflers, a guy has to check them every few hours of runtime.
