Are they not necessary because they create more/too much compression and increase wear on the saw or just unnecessary?

The pop-up pistons on eBay are mostly LRB or Farmertec and my experience with those is they're not a tight enough fit to the cylinder, so you lose the gain of any "pop-up" compression to the looser piston/cylinder wall clearance.

Will any interaction of the 562xp pistons fit any 562???

Heavier too. I hope all this ridiculousness going on with some of the 5 series saws doesn't become the new norm for Husky and spread to the other big brands. It's weird seeing barely used XPs on CL for a few hundred bucks.

There are a lot of choices - Meteor is about the only decent aftermarket brand. So look for a 46mm 562 piston. It's pretty easy.
I meant I seen husky makes the new style piston that “cupped” I just simply didn’t know if that one worked in the older models was all…

There's no need to run that one in the older models - the older saws (pre-2018) had more carburetor issues than anything...

I like the 550 and 572…I have tried to like the 562, but the MK I’s always seemed to be on the verge of crank bearing failure, and I think the mkII’s are lacking in the power dept. Guys on Facebook seem to love them so they can have em.

I was not aware of different versions other than flat and dished but I’m not that experienced with this model.

Yeh, it's the 562s, 543s I'm seeing. One of their top handles is there a lot also.

I made my own splitter tool for stuffer saws, it's ugly but it works. It bolts to the bar studs and pushes the crank out from the clutch side, then use another puller for the flywheel side. Once the crank is out, can you identify where the "loose" or worn spot is in the stuffer and put a little JB Weld in it and trim it back down to get a better fit on the crank?
