Also the 372 xtorq carb can be made to fit a non xtorq 372. It is a larger carb anD all that is needed to make it work is the air horn and some twisting and trimming of the boot.

But of the choices you have I would go with the unlimited coil and the HD 12b carb. That combination along with a gasket delete should make you smile. Where else can you have so much fun for $30.

Hold up......

Brewz..... you have scored a MAJOR "You Suck" award with that saw. That may be the best score I have ever heard of- a minty 372xp for $30? WOW!
Yeah I know, I still pinch myself every time I look at it.

I will keep the saw as is and just swap out the coil and ditch the limiters.

I ordered a new 22" GB Pro bar for it last night, and am waiting on the new air filter and muffler before I get to see how she runs.

Actually, to make you all sick, the pile of 9 junk saws cost me $200, which makes them $22.23 each
I was living happily in my blissful ignorance of all things math until you broke that price down for us. If I were you, I'd be afraid of waking up from a wonderful dream.

Brews are getting the benefits due Australias high oem part prices, and I love that he can get projects super cheap.
He have to put more time in them to find/import parts, but I am pretty sure he will soon sit with a nice collection Huskies for under 200$ each.

An awful lot of Orange for a 'Stihl Guy' don't ya think? Its catching up to you!:aplastao:

Well, you cant see the 034 Super, 2 x 064's, the 076 AV Super and 090 AV I got as well, or the 026, 2 x 066's and my brothers 044 up on the bench.

All that orange is getting fixed and sold, not that I wouldn't happily keep every last one of them.
I have nothing against Huskys, I just grew up with Stihl.

At this stage I would say I am converted 80/20 Sthil/Husky

I will keep the 372 and use it for a while to see if it grows on me.
Its a nice easy saw to work on, feels nice and I like the idea of the spring AV.

I will use the Husky, I may even happily grow to love it, but you will need a crow bar to praise my 066 from my cold dead hand :-)

Unfortunately my need for money to support kids and home loan outweighs my CAD, so all but the 372 will be sold.

Well......... I will see what I think of the 2100CD...... maybe :-)

family first, thats how it should be.
I have the same priority at home, if we need extra money the saws are leaving asap.
What is normal price for a 372 runner in Australia?

Awesome.
As long you get them in under 100$ in general you can have a very nice income on them.
I guess it's just the same for you and me, we have to import parts to earn money

I was in consultation with Awol about getting a hot 562 sent to Australia but wage cuts ended that.

I will have to be content with a $30 372xp...... Its a tough life.

30 bucks for a nice but blown 372 is pure GRAVY, I don't care if it's Austrialian, US, or frog skins!

Yes yes, you SUCK Brewz! LOL!

Carb limiters gone, limited coil gone, bar in the mail, new Hyway muffler in the mail, need organise a chain to fit the 22" bar.

Might just get a few links taken out of a brand new chain I have here for a 25" bar that will likely get sold on a saw soon.

Problem is I wont be able to tune it..... I only have Stihl tuning screw drivers

Blue coil is limited, black is unlimited. As far as carbs go you will have to look at the model and spec of the carb, they could very well be the same. The limiters do need to go though. The 372 cylinder SHOULD have better porting from the factory than the 371, but the single ring piston from a 371 in the 372 cylinder would be a plus.

Joe

Single vs. two rings isn't a 371 vs. 372 thing. It is a non-EPA version vs. EPA version thing, and the change happened before the model designation changed, on the US market.
I am not sure when the change happened on other markets, or if it happened at all on all markets.

Wasn't the main difference between the 371 and 372 the front vs side tensioner, and the hd-6 vs hd-12b carb?
