Hello everyone, i apologize in advance for potentially bad written post as i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to essays and such.
Also sorry for potentially bad pics.
Short "lucky" story first.
Today while checking my ignition timing, after moving flywheel a bit forward as i rotated crankshaft, when i reached TDC i heared some crunching, heart skipped a beat, checked inside with a flashlight, seemed to be something like "flakes" on the piston top, immidiately my thoughts went on worst, my jug is a goner.
I decided to take jug of and check what happened, turns out that a piece of sparkplug porcelain cracked off, probably from tapping a crankshaft, but i didnt even hit it hard at all... 3 slight taps.
That could have caused such a mayhem if it fell off while running....
Anyway i decided while jug is off and while waiting for a new piston I can revisit it a bit with porting, as i felt that i may finish a bit better, even though its faster than my other ported 60cc saw by 65% and it pulled an old chain with 1mm rakers down without much hesitation. (chain wasnt mine, dont blame for rakers please)
Can anyone post degrees of a ports for a "woods" port for 359?
I cannot really post my degrees yet (will do in a day or two) but ill post a pics of ports openings.
So the picture bellow of a exhaust port is when transfer ports start to open.
Does it seem off?
Here are a pics of a transfer ports, i only tried to raise them for a thickness of a gasket and not change angles and such, but as Bit jumped a few times i had to make it "even".
Jug from above, ignore rtv please.
Thats all i got for now, had quite some good time with it both "porting" and cutting. Thanks to xp_slinger too.
So, every advice or criticism is welcomed, just please dont go on rampage with criticism as this jug is from cheap heavily used 359, in decent shape however. Decided that its perfect for me as a beginner.
By the way squish is a bit bellow ONE milimeter.
Thanks in advance.
