So, this is the saw that I tore down and rebuilt just about a year ago. Lots of help from the "crew"of course- couldn't have done it without you. A big nod to Matt's videos on my exact saw, and Hakskaroly who had my "six" for the whole project.
Used the saw on a decent sized maple that needed to come down that same spring. Ran like a new saw. Then yesterday I got the bug to fire it up and pick up on some yard cleanup where I quit last summer before foot surgery in August and a herniated disc in December. Not fun. But I'm mostly healed and starting to get back to my routine. She started right up for a saw without a primer bulb that had sat for 8-9 months. Ran fine. Maybe a tank of gas. Anyway had a little energy left this afternoon and decided to gas/oil her up for a little more firewood work. Started with bar/chain oil. Seemed to take a lot of oil. Yeah, right! Looked a little to my left and there was my own personal Exxon Valdez oil slick. Turned the saw right side up and clearly what I poured in ran out the other side. Needless to say I was not looking forward to that project. But in less time than it took to type this, while I was spreading rags to absorb the spill, I realized that I'm certainly not the first one to encounter this. And that someone can tell me what I put together last spring that didn't stay together this spring.
