Please elaborate on stoning a chain. How do you do it? I understand the idea behind it and what it does to help speed up cut times I'm just unsure how everyone does it
I have filed them right and left handed. Depends on what I'm doing. Trying to get where I can file one side left handed and the other right.Do you guys actually file your LH cutters left handed? It's the easiest side for me right handed, but can't see the corner
Exactly where I'm at. Probably have to start using the left hand for other things more often. You know. ..more ambidextrous. Practice makes perfectI have filed them right and left handed. Depends on what I'm doing. Trying to get where I can file one side left handed and the other right.
My vise is too high to get my head over to that side of the bar to see the corner. I can see where one of 410's vises could come in handy hereI file both cutters right-handed.
Just change positions is all.

You working on the .325 already?
Hey I can do that. Sounds simple enough.I use a long rope behind the truck and drag the chain down the highway when I go to pick up the cants.
I then flip chain over for other side when I am on return trip. That way both sides are done the same amount.
