When you move the chain during the stoning. Do you leave a stoned cutter up?

I have a question about angles. I have a granberg I want to modify to hold a double bevel file. What are good angles for an all around work chain? I read somewhere 45 for top angle and 45 tilt. Does this look right? And what about file roll angle? (I guess that's what you call it)

Anyone have another link or someone uploaded it to a hosting service? This is a great thread and I am very interested in that article.
Here is a link to the Carlton Book: http://www.hearth.com/talk/threads/chain-sharpening-book.104725/

And I'm still looking for help with file angles. I guess I can just buy a loop of square ground chain and try to match those angles. Would I be better off with Stihl or Oregon chain to match angles or are they about the same?

Oregon and stihl are pretty different on angles. I like to come nevertheless the round to square. That's more towards what I like to run for a top plate angle.

Will that much top plate angle hold up in hardwood?
And if I was gonna copy a factory square, which has the better angles to copy for hardwood?

I've cut 2 gallons worth of fuel and not been completely dull. That lasts good enough for me.
Yeah that's pretty good. So any way to describe what angles to hold the file at to achieve your angle. If you don't mind sharing that is.

Lay the file on the tie strap under the corner. Roll it into the corner until the side plate has a tiny bit of forward lean and the corner is lined up in the corner of the tooth. For work angles you should be barely touching the tie strap at first as you file.
