How to square file

I'm headed to the garage to try and fug up this chain for my hybrid.

Im hard into the straps on .325.

I don't usually touch the straps much with the double bevel, I do cleaning out the gullet

Top plate is thin enough that his file had to be over the straps

Look above back rivet. If you look closer at the other pic, the same mark is there...just lighter

Looks like you could use a fuzz more forward lean. Could be the pic, but you want your working corner to contact the wood first

Yup, I need more lean. It's fairly straight up. I got tired of messing with it yesterday

Kinda new to this square file stuff, but judging by what I'm seeing here you want live edge file's not the smooth edge ones I run for dropping rakers. Or am I wrong?

I use a double bevel which has 6 sides

Chassis work takes forever! Lordy! I wanted to see how it cut before I got too aggressive with it. Might bog down the lil 241 more than I'd like

Probably got a dozen loops hanging up waiting on an edge, I might hafta do some playing around just to see what I come out with

That should pull it great.

Yes, chisel bit files..
Hard, square corners..
The straight edge side plates sever the wood as opposed to ripping through it.

Keep the rakers high..
That crap is agressive.
Fine for white pine, but will sap your power in gummy stuff..

I'll have to look and see. My work schedule is every other weekend. So i got 50/50. Prolly less than that if mama has anything to say about it.
