Yes it does. Some of the gas stations here have good tacos. Better than a lot of restaurants. Just have to find decent places to eat or get in an extended stay to be able to cook. I've put off buying. Scamper for so long since I was flying to most jobs. When I drive I bring my vise and can at least file some chains.

What about packing a flat top or crock pot? Something like that that you can just pack with you.

I have done that. I wasn't thinking about it when I left

Next thing you need to do is build yourself a small portable cubicle so you can grind on some jug's. Lol! Don't ask me where you would fit a lathe though. Baby steps.

I have thought about if I get a camper a toy hauler has enough space for a lathe. It's just not that solid though so I don't know how that would work out.

Gave it another try this evening. A little low on the point from what I can tell. Ran into a big problem though...my left hand is an idiot! Sharpening the opposite side (power head to my right) seems impossible.

Have the cutters facing you. It seems to work a little better.

Portable you say. There was a guy from Idaho Jason aka bushweasel that showed up to one of my Ohio gtg's with his silvey. He was square grinding chains on the spot.
Cant remember if he had a gen in his truck or how he was powering it.

Some of those were 12v to run on the landing

Silvery was one of those US companies that put quality at the forefront of everything they did. So sad/wrong that the Chinese stole their jobs.

I ended up rotating my vice perpendicular to the bench so the cutters were facing me. Much more comfortable.

I think I'm done derailing everyone's conversation now...lol. Thanks to everyone that gave me guidance. The helpfulness of all the members here never gets old.
