Just gotta make sure to get the corner or the file lined up with the corner on the tooth. That's what I still struggle with. Can't tell if yours is or not on my phone

Sorry about the pic, I tried to get the detail that you guys need but the glare from the filing makes it tough. I did try to keep the corner of the file lined up with the corner of the cutter. Makes a lot more sense to me now. Practice practice practice

A little trick...make sure the last two or three strokes are identical, on the same plane, and relatively light that's how you finish the tooth.

Thats a nice looking cutter. Bet that's the difference between my cheap file free handing and a good file coupled with lots of practice. Thanks for all your help.

Save edge file's are pretty decent from what I have e understood on here.

Well that's good news! Guess I better grab a few more from my dealer before they give up on stocking them. Thanks for the info.

Got it thank you, the pic helps. I assume a better work chain profile has the additional point in the gullet?

I keep the gullets even with the sides plate. If you let it go too far the shelf or point in the gullet can start biting as well and be dragging in the wood.

Thanks Mike. Everyone seems to shape the gullet a little differently and it helps to know why it needs to be cleaned up.

I got a friend who owns a private extended stay. Way nicer than the usual. Right off the thruway maybe twenty miles from the job. Let me know. Or there's my 35' Coachman behind the barn.

That would be great. I like to be able to cook instead of frozen meals of wraps and sandwiches.

I bet sandwiches fast food and gas station gets old fast. I know it does for me and that's just during lunch time.

Yes it does. Some of the gas stations here have good tacos. Better than a lot of restaurants. Just have to find decent places to eat or get in an extended stay to be able to cook. I've put off buying. Scamper for so long since I was flying to most jobs. When I drive I bring my vise and can at least file some chains.
