Ok I have gave my hands a try at converting a round ground .325 chain over to square for my first time. I think she came out pretty well. I'm not finished with it, I'm going to clip the heal and make a slope on the back and tunnel the inside. She will be up for grabs for someone to buy when I'm done.

The chain isn't for sale now. I'm giving it to a friend.

Gave it a go this arvo. Was determined to get it to work. Have tried using the bar mount jigs but just tried free hand and clamped the drive links in the vice. Did a 16" .404 and a 12" 3/8lp

I dry fit the file. Looks like it will lay right in there. Jasha said he uses a six sided to touch up.

I had some chains from him. I couldn't remember if they filed easy or not.

This is the grind (Jasha) I'm trying to follow. Got a six sided file. Got one of @Homelite410's jigs on the way. Suggestions?
Ross, I have found pointing Mikes vise straight out to me works best. I normally only use the very closest clamp to me. Ill file the left hand swap and do the right then progress the chain to the next two cutters.

I sent him my chain. It's the Husky branded chisel that Bill had a pile of a while back.
That's as good a chain as I have found..
Not sure if husky spec's a bit better than standard LGX or what..
Jasha's uses a steep angle and lower rakers for durability and self feeding.
Takes up some hp to run em, but very workable at low pressure. You'll be fine keeping those angles on touch ups. Raise the lead edge of the file once they stop self feeding, or lower rakers a tick more.
