The tree is spruce. And this was just a small test. I need more practice. First time I test my saw.
The times I mention are just rough guidelines for saws run in good poplar or aspen or clean white pine.
Those times are out the window as soon as you load up a gum or yellow pine cant..

Saw sounded good.. gear it up till you don’t have to pull too hard on it.

A good square chain will pull itself you shouldn’t have to push at all.

This is one of my work chain and how they normally pull right off the grinder first thing in the morning.

The guy from Switzerland hasn't replied. I'd like to get a couple to try 'em out. Here's another pic he posted to help someone. Finish looks damn good to me.

Looks great for work and probably milling too. Wish I had a grinder.
Wonder how long for the raker comments... :eusa_whistle:

That was a brand new chain right off the pro sharp for the picture then went straight onto the depth gauge grinder.

Once you get over a certain power threshold, material removal becomes a real issue.
And dropping the rakers will not get you the results you need.. there is also a certain amount of pressure that will have to be applied.
