Ofcourse it take longer time. But the chain Will be super sharp. Mostly the chains i square file are race chains. Use round file in the Woods.

Yes.. that’s why Madsens sells simmington’s.. lol

On new loops, I just use the goofy file to hit the top and get a corner. Then go use it. Then touch up when needed. By the time it’s ready to be made true square, the loop is well broke in.

By the way, that new Swedish made C83 chain is really nice.. chassis is of very good quality. Files good, no stretch hardly

Various reasons I’m sure, but I got a bargain on 200’ of LGX, so it needs to be used up.

yes I tryed c85 one Chain, no big differens betwen c85 or EXL. In cutting performance. I usually by 100 foot rolls from Ebay. Havent find any c83-c85 on 100 rolls. But bouth chains works good.

Hard to repeat those angles, same on the exl. I can get the exl pretty close with the grinder, but it takes extra steps. I haven't ran the husky chain yet, but I have one here.

The new Hooskie chain looks like it will be tough to file to maintain the hook.

The c83-c85 is fastest out of the box like you say, but When you have sharpen bouth chains c83 and EXL a couple of timmes whit the 5.5 round file. The cutting speed Will be the same betwen the chains.
