Round end like made for the granberg jig?I recently got 2 dozen of the vallorbe double bevels, I will check to see if I can get more for the same price, I will post here. They are the new style with skinny tang and round end, they are very nice files. If my distributor can get me more for the same price, they would be $11 a piece plus shipping. They come by the dozen and I could separate them if needed to. None of the ones I currently have will be for sale though!

If so, I’ll take a dozen or whatever they got.
Got the ball rolling, waiting for a quote on a hundred files. Lets hope they aren't using the same distributor Jeff talked to.
The ones I got are like the ones on the left. I am quite pleased with them.Anybody else notice the different angles here?
I’d be curious if one file was better for converting round to square or if one file left a smoother finish compared to the other.
I know I’d like to find a few more of the vallorbe straight cut double bevels just for touching up race chains.View attachment 213688
When I converting round to square I use a old file to get the right profile. The I take a new file and finnish the tooth with a couple of gentel strokes.I’m wondering if the new style with the round end is more noodley, being that it’s noticeably narrower than the other.
I prefer a file with less flex, easier to control and can put more pressure on it.
Doesn’t that take a lot more time? When I converting round to square I use a old file to get the right profile. The I take a new file and finnish the tooth with a couple of gentel strokes.
I wonder whether the new design gives you better control, precision or comfort. It looks like it will. These new Vallorbes have spiked my interest for sure. Its a new design that no maker done before. I find my single bevel Vallorbe's (flat cuts) will flex a bit when I apply pressure, these new ones look nice & solid.I prefer a file with less flex, easier to control and can put more pressure on it.
