A 30* sharp chain with those guides should bore like a champ.
It will take some messing with the angles, but you will get it to where you like it.I'm gonna change a few things before trying it again. It was freshly sharpened when I started yesterday.
That's what I'm thinking. like it plenty for firewooding, just need to make some changes for felling. It will take some messing with the angles, but you will get it to where you like it.
Could be just a couple of minor changes, and be good for both. That's what I'm thinking. like it plenty for firewooding, just need to make some changes for felling.
Or stay with round for the woods. I can touch up a round chain in a couple minutes and be back to work.
What are you using to set your rakers? That's what I'm thinking. like it plenty for firewooding, just need to make some changes for felling.

I set them at .025 with a file guide. What are you using to set your rakers?
Is it progressive like the Husky or fop?I set them at .025 with a file guide.
This is what I normally grab when I use one. I have the husky type also.Is it progressive like the Husky or fop?

Lol...worked fine up to this point. That particular one there is a paper weight lol.
I'll give it a try. ThanksGo to 0.030 or 0.035
If you could see how the angle changes as 0.025 remains constant as the tooth gets filed back to the end of its life, you would switch to the progressive guide or switch to nailing 5-7 degrees
Doug fir and alder are quite a bit different than what we have here. Various Oak Maple and hickory mostly. Not that your chain wouldn't work.Should be the other way around, a round chain should be on the landing/firewood chain.
Falling is a great place for running square, normally first thing in the morning my chain will be grabby but I’ll smooth out through the cut.
This is one of my chain in a second growth Doug fir on a property line, same chain cut some alder as well.
