Looks good. I’m this close () to callin bullshirt that’s your first go with square.
First try with double bevels. I tried with 3square Stihl files before and as I said in an earlier post they were to fat to fit. Both were on this chain. Took forever to figure out how to get the left side cutters correct. Much easier with the double bevel though. Second try total but first with D bevels.

When you convert round to square, you don't have to do it all at once. Just start making the corner square, and you will not believe how well it cuts. As you continue your sharpening's, it will get full square.

Seems that with the more knife like edge of the square vs round filed it should cut like mad. I have to work on file position for edges closer to round but also still maintain top plate angle and side plate angle all in time.... hopefully the 451b will be in my possession soon and all I will be doing is touch up w the files :)

You’ll get to where you won’t file at all after grinding a file will become an emergency only tool.

I square file by hand, and my chains don't come off the saw (which is why I like to bring multiple saws). I don't see that a grinder would save me anything with removing the chain and setting it up … I'm done already!

The only time I wish I had a grinder is when I rock a chain.

I try to stay in clean wood, and I'm very careful not to "farm" with my saw!

@RI Chevy @Wolverine here ya go guys.

Edit added this video an redid math for times.

Re-do of semi chisel video with more warm up time.

Round filed chains fresh filed, square is in same condition as last nite.

By my math round full chisel gives 23% over semi, square chisel gives 44% something seems weird there since square is normally around 25-30% total gain

21%round file chisel
39.9% square file chisel

Good reason to swap chains is the clean the rails and flip.

Bar on that test saw is going to stay like it is for a while pawn shop find, p&c we’re great. Bar was off of a “farm boss” and they had it priced accordingly. Don’t think it had been flipped ever in its life. Rails squared and closed and bar flipped. Just keeping an eye on depth now, to go back to flipping as usual

The cut times will vary based on the saw, the wood, and the filing job, but those are encouraging #s. I also like square for it's versatility … Cross Cutting, Ripping, Milling … you don't have to change anything!

Nice job. Is that 261 reg carb or moronic?
Looks like a 20" bar. Is the chain 3/8?

@RI Chevy Mtron with muff mod and timing advance. 18”.325 Stihl EMatic
Should do these with the MMWS 261. Same B&C combo though.
I edited the first post to include the numbers from the re-done semi chisel video.
