Tomorrow when I have some daylight. You going to get the chain in some wood?
Our snow will be gone by tomorrow I think. I have some short test logs but they're kinda dirty.Cool. I have snow and limited wood or else I would do a video comparing round and square on same piece of wood, same saw.

Looks good! Freehand, or did you try the Granberg again?A little more practice tonight...
Thanks, that was freehand. My Granberg just isn't gonna work. I kinda wish it would but I'll figure it out without.Looks good! Freehand, or did you try the Granberg again?

The homelite410 vise has been a huge help.
Other side..
I did a test with my square and round chain. Both chains .025 rakers
I might grab a 108 model and try again or get the smaller type of file to try. Taking the guesswork out of the angles would be great for a beginner like me.Well, too bad about the Granberg.. I'll still post some pictures of mine, maybe that'll help... if you're still interesting trying to use it.
Agreed, Mike's vises are great!
Thanks man. A bit of a learning curve here, I can run a round file but this crap is different fo sho.Good progress sir.
I broke one last year at Custer's gtg. The file corner had got enough through the strap that it just nicked the rivet. Sliced a dolmar chain catcher right off. Which is quite a feat since they're almost 1/4" thick. I was impressed lolLol. But one always must wonder. Lol
