I strongly disagree. My body is pretty broken, and my lower back is often in debilitating pain. My upper back is full of scar tissue and arthritis.
When I was out on the west coast, most guys, including me, ran saws 70-100cc exclusively. They ran and still run long bars with sharp chains, and keep a better working posture than a lot of the people who bend over and ultimately do more damage to their bodies. I maintain this to this day.
I own more chainsaws. Including a Husqvarna 346, 55, 372, a Stihl 046 and a 201T. They sit on a shelf-unless I get on gaffs and climb. The 346 is just too small to do anything worth doing and I’m not interested in using more than one saw for all my work.
Moments are force times distance, holding a 13 pound saws way away from your body is actually easier on you than holding a heavier powerhead close to your body and using the bar, which is way lighter, and having that at distance.
It’s that simple.
