I’m currently sitting with:
025 w/muffler mod converted to 3/8 picco on a 16” bar
361 w/muffler mod and a 25”
441 w/muffler mod and a 25”
460 w/BGD, +Timing, dual port Muff, and MaxFlow running a 25”
661 w/MaxFlow and a 25” daily but also a 36” for the big stuffs...

There are some saws I would really love to own and/or build and they include:
440/460 Hybrid
200T
MS400?
MS880 for funzies

361 and a 441 are a heck of a good combination.
You definitely want to own an early 044.

Agreed! The 361 surprises people when they run it - it owns that 25” bar in everything but the hardest of wood. And after I muff-mod’d it, it really woke up!
The 441 is newish to me, I don’t have much run time on it yet. It’s well used. My brother is also a logger and he used them exclusively for a few years. I always preferred my 460 for the torque it had, but at any rate he gave one of his old “truck saws” to me to run if I want. It needed a few things but runs pretty good.
The 661 is in an entirely different league IMO. If I care to carry its weight, it doesn’t complain about whatever I’m cutting. I love that about it.

All ported,
2511t, 355t, 200t, 201tcm, 261, 036, timberwolf, 038 mag2, 044 hybrid, 064 Hybrid and a 661. Looking for a 084 to round out the obsession with 4's.

That's a solid 3 saw plan that you have. 084 would be icing on the cake.

No small saws below 50 cc that will never work. We all get old and don’t want to carry a heavy saw. You need more.

I strongly disagree. My body is pretty broken, my lower back is often in debilitating pain. My upper back is full of scar tissue and arthritis.

When I was out on the west coast, most guys, including me, ran saws 70-100cc exclusively. They ran and still run long bars with sharp chains, and keep a better working posture than a lot of the people who bend over and ultimately do more damage to their bodies. I maintain this to this day.

I own more chainsaws. Including a Husqvarna 346, 55, 372, a Stihl 046 and a 201T. They sit on a shelf-unless I get on gaffs and climb. The 346 is just too small to do anything worth doing and I’m not interested in using more than one saw for all my work.

Moments are force times distance, holding a 13 pound saw way away from your body is much harder on your body than using a holding a bigger powerhead close to you and just moving the bar around, which is way lighter, and having that at distance.

It’s that simple.

I think you meant 13lbs away from your body is HARDER on you than the heavier power head close??

If so I totally agree. Thats why I tend to run a 500i with 28" bar way more than my 261. Usually the saw is a little overkill for the wood size I am cutting but being able to stand upright and cut is so much more comfortable for me. I am only 6'1" but still have to bend over quite a bit with a 20" bar.

I also find power head weight has much less effect on me than the weight of the bar. I'd rather run a 661 with LW bar than a 462 with an standard ES bar on it.

Ok I agree with you.
Cut with what is most comfortable for you. I like small saws on small limbs. Big saws on big stuff. Just a firewood hack though. Don’t even own a saw over 70 cc. Main thing is to be efficient at what you do. Glad to see at least you own a few smaller saws.

How did you cure yourself? I could be happy with just two of the saws in my current collection…just can’t figure out how to part with the others, lol.

CAD being chainsaw acquisition disorder.......I've learned to stop buying saws that I don't intend to sell. That said.....I still own over 50 saws. LOL
