Homelite 540? Did they really exist?

Kind of rare to find one in running order. This one had a rough life, I "collected" it 15 years back. It ended up at Bob's, came back for a mini. It's Bar oil line, felling spike, and fuel line / cab needed attention. ( Did that in another video ). AND after putting a couple hours into it with fairly simple and available part. It actually ran. Pretty well actually. A pleasant surprise? Went from "Kluge" headed to the trash can to useful saw with those fixes.

This one popped up on Craigslist a few weeks back, it was NOS, never fueled. As tempting as it was for me, I passed a link to my buddy that lived within ten minutes from where it was listed, He snagged it up at a great price, he's thrilled to own it......

Yes they existed and I have had a good number as well as the 8800.
