Holz Hausen Round type stack

If the weather breaks, I plan on building 2 more and will take better photos.

Its about 6 feet high.

I plan to build one as soon as I start splitting wood again.

My next house I plan to stand the wood on end on the inside of the outer circle. Hopefully it will fit a bit more wood a bit more efficiently.
I plan on putting a small wire mesh screen type fence on top of the pallets.

I started another Holz Hausen today. I am trying to maximize my space, so I am building an oval shaped pile. I stood the wood on end inside to see if it makes any difference in drying. I still have a couple of feet to go. Ran out of sunlight.

A little of a lot of trees. Red oak, white oak, apple, maple, cherry, and some soft crap wood tree. A little American Elm too.
